Door Lock
Everyone has it, but not with an automated shortcut for a home. After watching this amazing spider-man scene, I had to build one.

So not that great in physics but started seeing different ones that I can create for my door, loved the gears concept.
So after looking around found the actuator thing, that is mostly used for vertical or horizontal heavy movement.
But when checked the prices , was shocked so made the calculations for the force and pressure required to lift the simple knob as mine is vertical.
So simply thought of creating a small 3d printed thing that can be made of gear and can lift that much weight at certain force, started looking into these :

Loved the rack and pinion concept , so started working on it.
At this point wasn’t that much experienced with 3d printing so firstly started designing gears and spurs which was another pain. This was my first one :

Tried in fusion360 ofcourse, but didn’t get that feel, so started using Autodesk inventor which I really loved.
Designed the rack pinion , now the major problem was to get a base that was small enough to hang on the door and somehow get attached anyhow temporarily with glue gun or something just to get this thing working.
More than 10 prints wasted for the base, and finally got to a draft :
Got the whole things wired up and tested :
Flashing esp

Tried with the door knob it perfectly worked , so mounted it :

It was working but had alot of issues with the base mount as wasn’t heavy, wanted a small compact device with just gear , so consider this just a prototype, trying to make a better one.
